 | IntroductionWelcome! Thanks checking out the Ballygowan Pipe Band site – for those of you who may not know us, we are based in Ballygowan Co. Down and were formed in 1946. We differ from other pipe bands you may be used to due to the Brian Boru Chanter on our pipes. This chanter has wider range of notes than the great highland chanter and gives us the ability to play a wider range of tunes with a very distinct sound.
